In August 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to concerns of ongoing drug trafficking activity within the community encompassing the area of Waterfront Drive.
In September 2022, the Central Community Support Unit began an investigation and identified an adult male and female believed to be involved.
On September 6, members of the Central Community Support Unit, assisted by the East District Community Support Unit, the Guns & Gangs Unit and the Tactical Support Unit, executed a search warrant on a residence in the 200 block of Waterfront Drive and arrested the two suspects without incident.
Members seized the following items from the property:
- 22 grams of Crack Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $2200)
- 133 grams of Cocaine (Estimated Street Value = $14,000)
- 537 grams of Marijuana (Estimated Street Value = $2,000)
- 7 tablets of 80mg Fentanyl (Estimated Street Value = $500)
- Various tablets, including Oxycodone, Xanax, Percocet, Morphine, Diazepam
- Drug packaging materials
- Extended Glock handgun magazine
- Brass knuckles, Switchblade, Bear Spray
- Score Sheets, Vaccum Packaging devices, Money Counters
Dwayne Rene PARISIAN, 25, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Morphine
- Possession for the Purpose of Selling Cannabis
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 5
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Weapon
He was detained in custody.
Savanna Ashley ABRAHAM, 21, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Morphine
- Possession for the Purpose of Selling Cannabis
- Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized x 5
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
- Possession of a Weapon
