Stabbings – Arrest: C22-201314

On September 2, 2022, at 7:29 p.m., North District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to a residence in the 700 block of Flora Avenue for a report of a male that was attempting to stab other individuals.

Upon arrival, officers located three victims that had been stabbed and began to administer emergency medical care. A female in her twenties and a male in his thirties were transported to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. A second female in her twenties was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

A male suspect was located in the area of Selkirk Avenue and McKenzie Street, at which time he was placed under arrest and was found to have sustained a stab wound injury himself. The suspect was transported to a hospital in unstable condition, where he was treated and released into police custody.

North District General Patrol members continued with the investigation. It is believed that the suspect and victims, who were known to each other, had been together when a dispute escalated into an altercation.

Desmond Michael Anderson, a 30-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:

- Assault with a Weapon (x3)
- Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order (x5)

He was detained.
