Public invited to view recommended design and video simulation of Chief Peguis Trail Extension West

Residents will have the opportunity to view the preliminary design, learn how feedback from previous engagement opportunities was incorporated into the design, and discuss next steps with City representatives and members of the project team.

Residents will have the opportunity to learn about the project, ask questions, and talk with project team members.

Public invited to help shape the City of Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg is inviting residents to help plan for climate change by providing input on the vision, targets, and actions for Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan: Planning for Climate Change. Acting for People. The purpose of this process is to develop strategies that will lead to a community-wide climate action plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Residents are invited to a public engagement session on November 10, 2017 at 7 p.m. which will explore a climate action vision for the City and identify actions for the Plan.

City seeks community feedback on North District police station siting

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg is in the planning stages of building a new North District police station, to replace the existing station #13 located at 266 Hartford Avenue, as part of its transition to a four district police station model. The Winnipeg Police Service’s Four District Model will be achieved with the addition of the North District station.

The existing station #13 does not meet current needs, and the building itself is not adequately located to handle growth in the north end of the city.

York Avenue between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street will be temporarily closed to traffic on October 26 and 27

Winnipeg, MB - York Avenue between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street will be temporarily closed to traffic this Thursday, October 26 at 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. on Friday, October 27 for the CEO Sleepout 2017 event.

Motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.

Mural unveiled at Tyndall Park Community Centre

Winnipeg, MB - At an event this morning, City Councillor Mike Pagtakhan and representatives from the Tyndall Park Community Centre joined the community to unveil a new mural at the Tyndall Park Community Centre.
