Public invited to help shape the City of Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg is inviting residents to help plan for climate change by providing input on the vision, targets, and actions for Winnipeg's Climate Action Plan: Planning for Climate Change. Acting for People. The purpose of this process is to develop strategies that will lead to a community-wide climate action plan to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Residents are invited to a public engagement session on November 10, 2017 at 7 p.m. which will explore a climate action vision for the City and identify actions for the Plan.

This will be one of several opportunities for residents to participate in the process, which will include online and social media opportunities, as well as future public engagement events.

Public Engagement Session:

  • Date: Friday, November 10, 2017
  • Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; session runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Location: The University of Winnipeg’s Convocation Hall, second floor of Wesley Hall,
    515 Portage Avenue

The Plan is funded by a Federation of Canadian Municipalities Green Municipal Fund grant totalling $94,875, and is expected to be presented to City Council in spring 2018.
