Public invited to Transit Garage Expansion Project information session

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeggers are invited to attend an information session on the Winnipeg Transit Bus Maintenance Garage Expansion project on November 16, 2017. The information session will present the proposed garage design and gather feedback from the public. The information session builds on public input collected at past stakeholder meetings, and an open house held in January 2017.

Logan Avenue from Weston Street to Vine Street to be temporarily closed November 3 and 4

Winnipeg, MB – Logan Avenue between Weston Street and Vine Street will be will be completely closed to both eastbound and westbound traffic starting Friday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m. for a railway crossing repair. It is anticipated that Logan Avenue will be reopened to traffic by 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 4. Pedestrian access will be maintained while repairs are underway and motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.

City works to encourage free trade and open borders at international conference

Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg recently participated in the North American Strategy for Competitiveness’ (NASCO) annual tri-national conference in Monterrey, Mexico to address issues and discuss solutions to the rapidly changing state of international business and its impact on global trade.

The theme of this year’s conference was Beyond Borders, Beyond Politics, and drew business, educational, and government leaders from throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Garden City Shopping Centre community recycling depot closing date extended to December 1, 2017

Winnipeg, MB – The closing date of the community recycling depot located at the Garden City Shopping Centre has been adjusted to December 1, 2017. The recycling depot is closing permanently at the request of the Mall's management.

The City is currently exploring options for a new recycling depot location in the area.

Residential customers are encouraged to take their recyclables to the nearest 4R Winnipeg Depot, located at 1120 Pacific Avenue, open:

Yard waste collection delays expected

Winnipeg, MB - Due to the weather conditions and increases in the volume of yard waste being placed out, collection delays are expected over the next few weeks.

Crews may be working on weekends, and as late at 10 p.m., to get caught up.

Residents are advised to place their yard waste out on their regular collection day and to leave it out until it gets collected.

If this week is your yard waste collection week and your yard waste has not been collected by 10 p.m. on Sunday, please contact 311 to report a missed pick up.

Princess Street between Higgins Avenue and Logan Avenue to be closed October 29 - 30

Winnipeg, MB - Princess Street between Higgins Avenue and Logan Avenue will be closed from 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 29 to 6 a.m. on Monday, October 30 for water work.

Motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.
