New bus schedules helping routes to run on time

We're paying close attention to impacts of our winter schedule change

D12 bus at a bus stop in the winter

On-time performance is improving for three transit routes with new schedules. We recently added service hours to routes D12, D13 and D16, because they were often late. In fact, they were the worst offenders in our entire network for lateness this fall.

In the first four days with the new schedule, all three routes saw a reduction in the number of late buses.

Compared to fall, between December 14 - 17:

  • The number of late D12 buses dropped approximately 39%
  • The number of late D13 buses dropped approximately 56%
  • The number of late D16 buses dropped approximately 25%

We're closely monitoring the impact of other changes made when we launched our winter schedule December 14. This includes:

  • Additional service hours allocated to F8
  • Additional trips on school serving routes
  • Expanded service hours for 10 out of 12 On-Request Zones (from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.)

We're pleased to see people taking On-Request at night in our first week of extended service hours. From December 14 to 20, 464 On-Request trips were taken after 9:45 p.m.

We encourage anyone with feedback about our service changes to please share it with 311. While we may not be able to respond to every inquiry, we are tracking all the feedback we receive. The more details you are able to share (date, time, location, routes, concern, etc.) the better we are able to take action.
