Homicide - Arrest: C22-92673

Update:

On June 2, 2022, as part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Homicide Unit flew to Toronto, Ontario, where they arrested and charged Neigel Ryan NOEL, 53, for the May 4th murder of 39-year-old Scott Matthew CATCHEWAY in Winnipeg.

Stabbing - Update: C22-117062

As previously released:

On June 1, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., a male in his 30’s was robbed of his property and stabbed while walking in the 300 block of Ross Avenue. A resident witnessed the attack and contacted police.

Officers located a seriously injured male and provided emergency medical care. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. Two suspects were located and taken into custody, still possessing the victim’s property.

Shooting - Update: C22-117011

As previously released:

On May 31, 2022, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to reports of a shooting at a lounge in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers determined a shooting had occurred within the establishment, and two suspects had then fled the scene. Shortly after, an adult male believed to be involved in this incident attended the hospital with a serious gunshot wound. No other patrons were injured.

Update:

Stolen Vehicle, Drugs & Weapons - Arrests: C22-117996

On June 2, 2022, at approximately 12:11 a.m., Central District General Patrol officers observed a stolen vehicle enter the parking lot of a bar/hotel in the 1400 block of Notre Dame Avenue.

The vehicle was stopped, and two occupants were safely taken into custody. However, a third occupant fled on foot, and with the assistance of AIR1, he was taken into custody in the 1300 block of Winnipeg Avenue.

A search of the stolen vehicle resulted in the seizure of a number of items, including the following:

Homicide - Search for Human Remains: C22-103187

Update:

The ground search for the partial human remains of Rebecca CONTOIS began today at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility. On May 16, 2022, soon after the discovery of her partial remains, WPS officers had an area of the landfill secured where it was deemed possible her missing remains could be located and stopped any further dumping of materials.

Stabbing – Arrests: C22-116826

On May 31, 2022, at approximately 7:00 p.m., General Patrol officers from the West District responded to a stabbing at a bar in the 1400 block of Notre Dame Avenue.

Police located an 18-year-old male in the parking lot and provided emergency medical care for a serious upper-body injury. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition, where he remains.

Public Assistance – Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision: C22-104920

As previously released:

On May 17, 2022, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service and emergency personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Henry Avenue, south of Higgins Avenue.

An adult female was lying in the roadway and seriously injured. She was subsequently transported to hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Homicide – Arrest: C22-114259

As previously released:

On May 28, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an assault in the 100 block of Marlow Court.

North District officers in the area attended and located an unconscious female victim suffering from upper-body injuries. Officers administered emergency first aid to the victim before ambulance arrived.
