Update:

On June 2, 2022, as part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Homicide Unit flew to Toronto, Ontario, where they arrested and charged Neigel Ryan NOEL, 53, for the May 4th murder of 39-year-old Scott Matthew CATCHEWAY in Winnipeg.

As previously released, investigators sought the public’s assistance to locate NOEL, who was believed to have fled Winnipeg after shooting CATHCHEWAY during a dispute at a residence in the 400 block of Young Street. The accused and the deceased were known to each other at the time of this homicide.

NOEL has been charged with the following offences:

- Second Degree Murder
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order

He was detained in custody.
