Suspicious Death – Investigation: C22-190799

On August 22, 2022, just before 7:00 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a deceased female located in an apartment block in the 100 block of Jarvis Avenue.

The deceased was transported to hospital, and the Homicide Unit has taken over this investigation.

Assaults Investigation/Public Advisory

On August 22, 2022, during the early morning hours, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to three serious incidents within the Point Douglas area.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., officers located an adult male with serious injuries in a parking lot in the 800 block of Main Street. He was transported to hospital in critical condition.

At approximately 5:00 a.m., officers located an injured adult male in the 600 block of Main Street. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition.

Weapons – Arrests: C22-188745

On August 19, 2022, at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted to the report of a male with a firearm in a vehicle operating in the area of Portage Avenue and Ashburn Street.

Weapons – Arrest: C22-187701

On August 18, 2022, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Property Crimes Unit observed a wanted adult male operating a bicycle in breach of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) westbound Wellington Crescent approaching Cambridge Street.

Officers attempted to stop the male; however, he fled on the bicycle. After a short pursuit, officers arrested the male without incident and placed him in custody.

The male was found to be in possession of the following items:

- American Classic BB Airsoft pistol
- Canister of bear spray

Guns & Gangs Search Warrant – Arrest: C22-160193

In July 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns & Gangs Unit entered a drug trafficking/firearms investigation involving a residence within the City of Winnipeg.

Through their investigation, the Guns & Gangs Unit identified a suspect believed to be involved.

Homicide – Investigation: C22-186182

As previously released:

On August 17, 2022, at approximately 3:05 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hotel in the 100 block of Higgins Street for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a seriously injured adult male in front of the establishment and administered emergency medical care. He was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased.


Update:

Shooting – Investigation: C22-187740

On August 18, 2022, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a shooting in the area of Furby Street and Sargent Avenue.

Officers located an adult male with a serious gunshot wound, and they administered CPR until paramedics arrived. The victim, in his twenties, was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Witnesses indicated suspects were seen fleeing the area. The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, no arrests have been made.

Shooting – Investigation: C22-186791

On August 17, 2022, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of shooting near Main Street and Jarvis Avenue.

Officers located a youth in his teens with a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

This investigation continues by the Major Crimes Unit. Nobody has been arrested.

Shooting – Arrest: C22-117011

As previously released:

On May 31, 2022, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a shooting at a lounge in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue. One of the parties (also in possession of a firearm) was shot, and two suspect males fled. The injured victim transported himself to hospital, and police were alerted to a gunshot wound.

Homicide – Update: C22-185714

As previously released:

On August 16, 2022, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Cathedral Avenue for a report of a suspicious death.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male inside a residence. His death is believed to be a homicide.

Update:

The victim has been identified as Pajo “Paul” Radocaj, an 83-year-old male of Winnipeg.
