On May 31, 2022, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a shooting at a lounge in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue. One of the parties (also in possession of a firearm) was shot, and two suspect males fled. The injured victim transported himself to hospital, and police were alerted to a gunshot wound.

Update:

The Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation, and the two suspects were identified: Jamie George Guimond, 32, and a 24-year-old male (who has since passed away). It is believed the shooting was precipitated by gang rivalry.
