Weapons – Arrest: C22-187701

On August 18, 2022, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Property Crimes Unit observed a wanted adult male operating a bicycle in breach of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) westbound Wellington Crescent approaching Cambridge Street.

Officers attempted to stop the male; however, he fled on the bicycle. After a short pursuit, officers arrested the male without incident and placed him in custody.

The male was found to be in possession of the following items:

- American Classic BB Airsoft pistol
- Canister of bear spray

Dillon Alfred BALLANTYNE, 27, of Winnipeg, is charged with the following offences:

- Possession of a Weapon x 2
- Possession of a Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
- Operate a bicycle on a sidewalk with a rear wheel diameter larger than 410 mm (HTA)
- Warrant (Unlawfully at Large)

He was detained in custody.
