Weapons – Arrest: C25-8013

On January 11, 2025 at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Central District Community Support Unit were conducting proactive patrol in the 300 block of Kennedy Street in response to ongoing violent and drug related crime in the area.

Officers observed what appeared to be a robbery involving an adult victim and two adult male suspects. They arrested the suspects a short distance away but were unable to locate the victim, who fled before officers could conduct an interview.

Gregory SPENCE, 20 yrs of Winnipeg was arrested in possession of a prohibited revolver style handgun, loaded with four rounds of .22 calibre ammunition. He has been charged with the following:

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Firearm Part or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking

He was detained in custody.

Matthew WOODHOUSE, 28 yrs of Winnipeg was arrested in possession of a 12” serrated knife. He has been charged with the following:

  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order x 2

He was detained in custody.
