Missing persons releases

Recent media releases

Government of Canada provides a list of long-term missing persons.

If you have any information regarding a missing person please call the Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250 or send them an email. You can also reach out anonymously to Crimestoppers.

A public request for information from the Winnipeg Police Service is not the initial step for every missing person case. The preferred outcome is for police to investigate and locate the missing individual while maintaining their privacy and/or safety. It is however necessary in certain cases to take the additional step of notifying public and media to ask for assistance. This may happen quickly in a missing person investigation or it may be at a later time, once all other investigative avenues have been exhausted.
