Stabbing – Investigation: C22-129615

On June 14, 2022, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a male who had been stabbed in the 100 block of Higgins Avenue.

Tactical Support Team officers, along with General Patrol Officers from the Central and North Districts, located a male suffering from a stab wound to the upper body and provided emergency medical care.

The victim, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains.

The Major Crimes Unit is continuing the investigation.

Homicide – Investigation: C22-129764

On June 15, 2022, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of an injured male lying on the sidewalk in the 2300 block of Pembina Highway.

Officers from the West District attended and discovered a male who had been stabbed.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition; however, he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide- Investigation: C22-103187

Update:

As previously released on June 2, 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service commenced a search at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility looking for additional human remains of the deceased, 24-year-old Rebecca Contois of Winnipeg.

Yesterday, June 14, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Ground Search and Rescue Team (GSAR) recovered human remains.

Rebecca was deemed the victim of homicide when her partial remains were discovered in a collection receptacle in the 200 block of Edison Avenue on May 16, 2022.

Robbery with a Firearm – Investigation: C22-128829

On June 14, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police responded to the report of a robbery with a firearm near Broadway/Langside Street.

Officers met with two victims in their twenties who indicated that while they were walking eastbound on Broadway, an unknown male crossed the street and verbally engaged them. The unknown male pulled up his shirt, revealing a gun in his waistband.

Assault – Investigation: C22-128796

On June 14, 2022, at approximately 1:15 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of an injured person in the yard of Chief Peguis Junior High.

A person passing through the field observed the victim and quickly ran to a nearby convenience store and contacted police for help.

Police located a female in her twenties, injured and bleeding. She was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable condition.

Stabbing – Investigation: C22-126200

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating a stabbing that occurred on June 11, at approximately 4:00 a.m.

Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Burrows Avenue. Two suspects deployed pepper spray through the backdoor of residence, sending an adult male resident (victim) to exit. Once outside, the victim was stabbed in the upper and lower body, and the suspects fled on foot.

General Patrol officers arrived and administered emergency medical care, by applying a tourniquet. The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Stabbing – Arrests: C22-126108

On June 11, 2022, at 1:19 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1300 block of Elgin Avenue West for a report of a male that had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 21-year-old male and provided emergency medical care. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Two other male victims, both in their 20s, were discovered with minor injuries.

At 1:34 a.m., two male suspects were located in the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue and placed under arrest.

Stabbing – Arrest: C22-125785

On June 10, 2022, at 6:48 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 500 block of Flora Avenue for a report of a male who had been stabbed.

Upon arrival, officers located an injured 36-year-old male and provided emergency medical care. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition.

At 9:33 p.m., a female suspect was located in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue and placed under arrest.

Shooting – Investigation: C22-127804

On June 13, at approximately 1:30 a.m., police were contacted regarding a gunshot victim who arrived on their own to hospital. A 16-year-old male shot in the upper body was transported in unstable condition (possibly by taxi) and later upgraded to stable condition. The victim could not provide many details of the incident at the time.

The Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate; anyone with information can call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477 (TIPS).

Shooting – Investigation: C22-127141

On June 12, 2022, at approximately 5:30 a.m., police were contacted regarding a gunshot victim who transported themselves to Health Sciences Centre. Police met with the victim in his twenties, who had a lower-body injury and was in stable condition.

He reported that while driving in the 300 block of Sherbrook Street, shots struck his vehicle. He immediately drove himself to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time.
