On June 11, 2022, at 1:19 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1300 block of Elgin Avenue West for a report of a male that had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located an injured 21-year-old male and provided emergency medical care. The victim was subsequently transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Two other male victims, both in their 20s, were discovered with minor injuries.
At 1:34 a.m., two male suspects were located in the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue and placed under arrest.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation. It is believed that the two groups (victims and suspects) were previously unknown to each other when they had an encounter at a nearby park before the incident. It is believed that the critically injured victim also had his shoes stolen from him.
Noah Logan Lavalee, an 18-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault with a Weapon (x2)
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon
A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:
- Aggravated Assault
- Assault with a Weapon (x2)
- Robbery
- Possession of a Weapon
Both were detained in custody.
