Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg will participate in this year’s National Health and Fitness Day on June 3, 2017 by providing free access to any of our City-run aquatic and recreation facilities during scheduled public use times.

Mayor Bowman to Attend Big City Mayors' Caucus Meeting in Ottawa

Winnipeg, MB - Mayor Brian Bowman will join 21 Mayors from across Canada later this week as part of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ (FCM) Big City Mayors’ Caucus meeting in Ottawa and FCM’s Annual Conference and Trade Show.

“I look forward to meeting colleagues from across Canada to discuss issues of shared interest,” said Mayor Brian Bowman.

York Avenue between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street will be temporarily closed to traffic on May 31

Winnipeg, MB - York Avenue between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street will be temporarily closed to traffic this Wednesday, May 31 from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for the Skills Canada National Competition.

Motorists should allow additional time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.

Spring clean up complete

Winnipeg, MB - The City's spring cleaning of streets, sidewalks and boulevards is now complete.

The Public Works Department wishes to thank citizens for their cooperation while cleaning operations were underway.

Westdale spray pad temporarily closed from May 29 to June 2

Winnipeg, MB - The Westdale spray pad, located at 550 Dale Boulevard, will be temporarily closed starting on Monday, May 29, due to renovations on the adjacent outdoor pool.

The spray pad is expected to reopen on Saturday, June 3.

Paint will be removed from the Westdale outdoor pool using high pressure hydro-blasting, which can produce high decibel levels of noise. To ensure public safety during the renovations, the spray pad will be locked and the spray features will be turned off.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service celebrates Paramedic Services Week

Winnipeg, MB - Paramedic Services Week 2017 is being held across Canada from May 28 to June 3. The week-long awareness week will help inform citizens about the variety of paramedical services provided by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS). To celebrate the week, the department’s paramedics will participate in a variety of community and educational activities starting on May 23.

The WFPS currently has 727 licensed paramedics on staff who provide citizens with emergency medical services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
