Public Open House for Waverley West ‘B’ Secondary Planning Process

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeggers are invited to a public open house on Wednesday, September 26 for an overview of the draft Waverley West ‘B’ Secondary Plan, and to learn about the process to date.

Over the last 10 months, landowners and the general public have provided input, through landowner and stakeholder workshops, and at a first public open house, to help inform the draft plan. The project team will provide feedback on how the input was considered and incorporated in the draft plan at the upcoming public open house.

Accelerated Regional Road Renewal Program Recommended for Approval

Winnipeg, MB – An administrative report published today for Executive Policy Committee’s (EPC) consideration next week is recommending approval in principle of an accelerated regional road improvement program that if approved by Council, and other levels of government, would result in over $300 million incremental investment into regional road repairs over the next five years.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service update: Provencher Blvd. Fire

Winnipeg, MB – At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to a report of a fire at a two-storey wood frame commercial building in the 100 block of Provencher Blvd. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke, flames and high heat.

Brenda Leipsic Dog Park finds temporary home during construction of Southwest Rapid Transitway Stage 2

Winnipeg, MB – The Brenda Leipsic Dog Park has reopened at a temporary location at the northwest corner of Parker Avenue and Georgina Street.

“It’s great to see that area dog owners will regain access to an off-leash dog park until the new Brenda Leipsic Dog Park has been completed,” said Mayor Brian Bowman. “I would like to thank Manitoba Hydro for their accommodation toward making this temporary amenity possible for the benefit of residents.”
