Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on de la Morenie Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 12:07 a.m. on February 24, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey home in the 400 block of de la Morenie Street. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered smoke coming from the basement. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 12:45 a.m.

All occupants of the home safely self-evacuated after being alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Provencher Blvd

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:18 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 100 block of Provencher Blvd.

When crews arrived, they encountered a well-involved fire with heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. Crews launched an offensive attack, but deteriorating conditions forced crews to switch to a defensive attack, fighting the fire from the building’s exterior with aerial ladder trucks. Crews deployed the WFPS drone for situational awareness.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:04 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey home in the 300 block of Pritchard Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke and flames coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 11:28 p.m.

All occupants of the home safely self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on Toronto Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:04 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a house fire in a single-family, two-storey home in the 600 block of Toronto Street.

When crews arrived on scene, they encountered smoke coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 8:14 p.m.

All occupants self-evacuated prior to crew arrival. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Philip Lee Drive

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:48 a.m. on February 16, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a four-storey, condominium building under construction in the first block Philip Lee Drive. Upon arrival on scene, crews found one of the buildings in the new complex completely engulfed in flames. A defensive attack was launched, with crews working to protect the neighbouring condominium buildings and nearby residences. The fire was declared under control at 7:27 a.m. but crews will be on scene throughout the morning extinguishing hot spots.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Archibald Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:46 p.m. on February 15, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to an automatic alarm at an industrial building in the 400 block of Archibald Street. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered heavy smoke throughout the building. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 6:19 p.m.

Crews completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fire on Rougeau Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 10:35 a.m. on February 15, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey, single family home in the 200 block of Rougeau Avenue. Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke in the home and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 10:56 a.m.

The occupants of the house were alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm and self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Gallagher Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:18 p.m. on February 14, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey single family house in the 2200 block of Gallagher Avenue. Upon arrival on scene, crews encountered the home fully involved with heavy flames and smoke. Unable to enter the house, a defensive attack was launched, using aerial ladders to apply water from above. The fire was declared under control at 10:30 p.m. Crews are expected to remain on scene into the night continuing to extinguish hot spots.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Pembina Highway

Winnipeg, MB – On Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 7:41 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey apartment block in the 2300 block of Pembina Highway. Upon arrival on scene, crews found heavy smoke coming from one of the suites and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 8:26 p.m.

All occupants of the complex had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Westgrove Way

Winnipeg, MB – At 2:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey fourplex in the first block of Westgrove Way. Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke coming from one of the units and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 3:28 p.m.

All occupants of the complex had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.
