Winnipeg, MB – At 2:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey fourplex in the first block of Westgrove Way. Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke coming from one of the units and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 3:28 p.m.
All occupants of the complex had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time. Damage was contained to the suite where the fire originated. It is expected that most occupants of the complex will be able to return to their suites once crews complete their work on scene.
