Aggravated Assault – Arrest: C22-98353

On May 10, 2022, at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing incident at a shelter located in the North End of Winnipeg.

North District officers with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team attended and located a male youth in the shelter armed with a machete. Officers safely placed him into custody. Two victims suffering from upper-body injuries were also located within the shelter.

Homicide – Update: C22-89437

Winnipeg Police Homicide detectives have identified a suspect in the murder of Ryan SPENCE who was killed on May 1, 2022.

A warrant for Second Degree Murder has been issued for:

Christopher Curtis BONE, 31
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 355 lbs

Shooting – Arrest: C22-97532

On May 10, 2022, at approximately 8:45 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a stabbing at a residence in the 300 block of Selkirk Avenue.

Officers located a 16-year-old female who had not been stabbed but had sustained a gunshot wound to her lower body. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. An adult male was taken into custody.

Assault With a Weapon – Arrest: C22-97981

On May 10, 2022, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing at a residence in the 200 block of Selkirk Avenue.

North District General Patrol officers and Foot Patrol attended and located a female suspect walking nearby. Officers safely placed her into custody. A folding knife used in the assault was found in her possession and seized as evidence.

Firearms - Arrests: C22-97326

On May 10, 2022, at approximately 12:00 a.m., North District General Patrol officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Arlington Street and Dufferin Avenue.

Officers observed a backpack containing firearms within the vehicle. Subsequently, the driver and the passenger were taken into custody.

As a result of their investigation, officers seized the following items as evidence:

- 12-Guage Shotgun
- Airsoft Rifle
- Assorted Ammunition
- Knife

A 24-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

Robbery – Investigation: C22-96507

On May 8, 2022, shortly after 1:00 a.m., General Patrol officers and WFPS responded to an injured male who had been robbed in the 500 block of Portage Avenue.

Emergency medical care was provided to a male victim in his thirties. He indicated he was sitting on the steps of a closed business using his electronic device. An unknown group (two males and a female) approached him with a machete. He was assaulted, his property stolen, and the suspects fled on foot.

The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Strongarm Robbery – Investigation: C2295512

The Winnipeg Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating a strongarm robbery in the 300 block of Sargent Avenue.

On May 7, 2022, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the victim in her twenties and a group of unknown females exited a bus near Balmoral/Sargent. While the victim was waiting for another bus, she was unexpectedly assaulted by the females. They stole her personal belongings and fled on foot. A passerby stopped and called 911; the victim subsequently sought medical attention on her own.

Animal Cruelty – Arrest: R22-20043

On May 2, 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service was alerted by the Winnipeg Humane Society of a report of abuse of a cat in a residence in the 900 block of Sherbrook Street which occurred April 29, 2022.

The Winnipeg Humane Society investigator attended and located the roommate, who was determined to have placed the call for assistance. The cat was found in severe distress, suffering from a severely injured limb and facial injuries.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the cat’s leg required amputation.

Homicide – Update: C22-94660

As previously released:

On May 6, 2022, at 10:29 p.m., a General Patrol unit was travelling on the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge when they located an injured adult male near a sidewalk.

Officers provided emergency medical care, and the male was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The incident is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit.

Investigators ask anyone travelling on the bridge before the incident who feels they may have information that can help or dash-cam footage to contact detectives at 204-986-6219.

Injured Male – Investigation: C22-94660

On May 6, 2022, at 10:29 p.m., a General Patrol unit was travelling on the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge when they located an injured adult male near a sidewalk.

Officers provided emergency medical care, and the male was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

The incident is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit.

Investigators ask anyone travelling on the bridge before the incident who feels they may have information that can help or dash-cam footage to contact detectives at 204-986-6219.
