Suspicious Person/Assault – Investigation: C22-261113

On November 8, 2022, the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a suspicious person that had assaulted an 11-year-old female in the Windsor Park neighbourhood.

At approximately 12:45 p.m., the girl had been walking on Westmount Drive between Maywood Road and Paterson Street when she was approached by a male asking for directions. He then grabbed and hugged her before she could break free.

Robbery – Arrest: C22-256282/C22-257928

Update:

On November 8, 2022, Jayden Isreal KENNEDY, an 18-year-old male wanted for robbery-related offences, was located at a residence in the first 100 block of Foxberry Bay. He was arrested on the strength of a warrant and turned over to the Major Crimes Unit.

He remains in police custody. More information to follow as this investigation is still ongoing.

Carjacking – Investigation: C22-259799

On November 6, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., West District General Patrol members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, responded to the first 100 block of Kingston Row for the report of a male assaulted during a carjacking.

Officers met the victim, in his 40s, who was injured and reported being struck by a weapon. He was transported to a hospital via ambulance in stable condition.

Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Investigation: C22-259704

On November 6, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the 100 block of Dumoulin Street for a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a male in his 50s, was transported to a hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver, a male in his 20s, remained at the scene and met with officers.

Robberies/Serious Assaults – Public Assistance Required

The Winnipeg Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating a suspect involved in two serious robberies.

On November 2, 2022, at approximately 10:15 p.m., an 18-year-old male was robbed while waiting at a bus stop at Keewatin/Burrows. The victim was punched and slashed with a knife by an unknown male who demanded his property. He was treated for serious injuries to his upper body. The suspect fled on foot.
