Winnipeg, MB - The City’s Public Works Department is monitoring the Alberta clipper headed for Manitoba tomorrow. If conditions warrant, any required sanding, salting and plowing efforts will initially focus on main routes.

The residential plowing operation will also continue as scheduled until Saturday morning. Residents are encouraged to check knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca for the clearing schedule and information on how to locate an address’ associated zone and when plows will be in the area.

Winnipeg, MB - As the City of Winnipeg continues to cleanup following the Sunday and Monday’s major winter weather event, some city services continue to experience delays and interruptions.

A residential plow operation will begin tonight and a Residential Parking Ban will be in effect starting at 7:00 p.m. Residents are encouraged to check knowyourzone.winnipeg.ca for the clearing schedule and information on how to locate an address’ associated zone and when plows will be in the area.

Declared Snow Route Parking Ban lifted Residential Parking Ban in effect starting today at 7:00 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB - The Declared Snow Route Parking Ban that was put into effect at 12:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27 has now been lifted. The Annual Snow Route Parking Ban remains in effect nightly from 2:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on streets designated as snow routes until March 1, 2017.

To facilitate snow clearing operations a Residential Parking Ban has been declared and will be in effect starting at 7:00 p.m. this evening until Saturday at 7:00 a.m. Plowing of residential streets will begin at 7:00 p.m. today in snow zones D, G, H, P, R and V.

Sunday’s weather event brought approximately 23 cm of snow along with high winds into Boxing Day. Majority of snow fell in an eight-hour window. High winds produced major drifting. Residential streets continue to have significant accumulations.

Reminder - Let's Chip In Depots now open

Winnipeg, MB - Residents are reminded that they can recycle their real Christmas trees for free by taking them to a Let's Chip In Depots, open until January 20, 2017. Trees placed at the curb next to recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.

All plastic tree bags, tinsel, lights, decorations and tree stands must be removed before leaving a tree at a depot.

Residents are welcome to help themselves to free wood chips, which will be available at all depots in early January (while quantities last). Please remember to bring your own container.

Declared Snow Route Parking Ban in effect starting tonight at midnight

Winnipeg, MB - In order to facilitate a major plowing operation on main routes, a Declared Snow Route Parking Ban will be in effect starting tonight at midnight (Tuesday, December 27 at 12:00 a.m.).

The Declared Snow Route Parking Ban extends the Annual Snow Route Parking Ban by two hours, prohibiting parking on any designated snow route between midnight and 7:00 a.m.
