WINNIPEG, MB – The 2019 preliminary operating and capital budgets for the City of Winnipeg tabled at a special Executive Policy Committee meeting today respond to provincial funding uncertainty with a balanced and accountable approach Mayor Brian Bowman said today.

Winnipeg, MB - The City of Winnipeg's Annual Snow Route Parking Ban has been lifted effective 7:01 a.m., today, Thursday, February 28, 2019.
The ban prohibited parking between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on all designated snow routes.
No other winter parking bans are in place at this time.

Winnipeg, MB - At approximately 11:38 a.m. on February 26, 2019 Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a residence in the 0 - 100 block of Lake Grove Bay. Once on scene, crews found a fire in the kitchen area and utilized an offensive fire attack strategy to extinguish the fire. Occupants of the home self-evacuated before WFPS crews arrived.
The cause of the fire has been deemed accidental. No injuries were reported and no damage estimates are available at this time.
Dawson Road North Fire
Winnipeg, MB - At approximately 3:24 a.m. on February 26, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 600 block of Dawson Road North. Once on scene, crews found a fire in the shipping area and utilized an offensive fire attack strategy for control and extinguishment.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire will be under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
Riverton Avenue Fire
Winnipeg, MB – At approximately 2:45 p.m. on February 19, 2019 Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a one and a half storey, single-family house in the 2000 block of Gallagher Avenue. Once on scene, crews found a well-involved fire with heavy smoke and flames. An interior offensive attack was launched however due to deteriorating conditions crews, were forced to exit the structure and move to a defensive strategy. Crews expect to be on scene into the evening to fully extinguish the fire and all hotspots.
Winnipeg, MB - Mayor Brian Bowman will be recommending today that Council appoint two new members to the Winnipeg Police and make one reappointment.
