Dawson Road North Fire
Winnipeg, MB - At approximately 3:24 a.m. on February 26, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 600 block of Dawson Road North. Once on scene, crews found a fire in the shipping area and utilized an offensive fire attack strategy for control and extinguishment.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire will be under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
Riverton Avenue Fire
At approximately 4:28 a.m. on February 26, 2019, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of a fire in a one story wood frame residential dwelling in the 300 block of Riverton Avenue. Once on scene, crews declared a working fire and utilized an offensive fire attack strategy for control and extinguishment. Six occupants had self-evacuated the home when WFPS crews arrived. Paramedics medically assessed two individuals but no patients were transported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available at this time.
