Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Windsor Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey home in the 600 block of Windsor Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, smoke was coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 5:05 p.m.

Crews searched the home and no occupants were located. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:06 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a one-storey home in the 1900 block of Elgin Avenue West.

When crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the home. Crews launched a defensive attack, using aerial ladders. The fire was declared under control at 6:52 p.m.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Edderton Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey home in the 1000 block of Edderton Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, smoke was coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack, declaring the fire under control at 6:15 a.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated from the home before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. Crews rescued a cat and reunited it with its owners.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Selkirk Avenue and Stanley Street

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires this evening.

Selkirk Avenue

At 5:04 p.m., the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey residential building in the 600 block of Selkirk Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, flames and smoke were coming from the building. Crews launched an offensive attack and used an aerial ladder. Crews declared the fire under control at 5:32 p.m.

Spring cleanup operations ending

Winnipeg, MB – The City's spring cleanup of streets, sidewalks, boulevards, and parks is wrapping up today, and the annual grass mowing program is now underway.

The City wishes to thank residents for their cooperation throughout our cleanup operations. Residents who believe their boulevard has remaining excessive sand can report the location to 311 until June 13, 2021. Details on what constitutes excessive sand can be viewed online.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Young Street and Dufferin Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two house fires this afternoon.

Young Street Fire

At 1:14 p.m. on May 25, 2021, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half storey house in the 400 block of Young Street.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke and flames coming from the house. An offensive attack was initiated and the fire was declared under control at 1:29 p.m.

Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Home Street, Davidson Street, and Selkirk Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two fires late last night and one early this morning

Home Street Fire

At 11:23 p.m. on May 24, 2021, WFPS responded to a garage fire in the 100 block of Home Street.

When crews arrived to the address, they found smoke coming from the garage with flames extending to an adjacent porch. An offensive attack was launched and the fire was knocked down by 11:54 p.m.
