Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Public Library is seeking applications for the 2021-2022 edition of its Writer-in-Residence program.
During their term, the Writer-in-Residence offers mentorship and public workshops to emerging Manitoba writers. The successful candidate works with writers by phone, email, online conferencing, or in person (when possible). In addition, the Writer-in-Residence hosts workshops and online programming to share their expertise on topics such as writing for specific genres or getting published. The residency also includes time to work on a personal writing project.
The Writer-in-Residence term runs October 1, 2021 until April 30, 2022. Applications are due on Monday, July 5, 2021.
The Writer-in-Residence program has helped shape hundreds of new and emerging writers since it began in 1985. This upcoming term will be the Library’s thirty-second Writer-in-Residence.
