Winnipeg, MB – At 6:32 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant, two-storey house in the 600 block of Furby Street.
When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters entered the building and fought the fire from inside. The fire was declared under control at 6:54 a.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the house. No occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The house had previously been damaged by fire in August 2021. As the structural integrity of the house is compromised, WFPS is arranging for emergency demolition of the building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
