Winnipeg, MB – The City of Winnipeg is offering reduced Leisure Guide programming this fall. The Fall 2020 Leisure Guide will be available online as of September 15, along with the skating and swimming lesson brochures. A limited number of printed Leisure Guides will also be available at City facilities.

Leisure Guide registration will begin for Winnipeg residents on September 22, and for non-residents on September 24. Register for Fall 2020 Leisure Guide activities by calling 311, or online at leisureONLINE. Please ensure you are able to login to leisureONLINE before registration starts.

In-person registration will be available at all indoor pools during regular operating hours, and at 395 Main St., Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To reduce group size and queueing, we are asking registration customers not to arrive at the beginning of a swim/fitness block. Information on swim/fitness block start times can be found on leisureONLINE. Residents wishing to register in person are reminded that they are required to wear a face mask in our facilities and must maintain social distancing.

Equipment loans have also resumed. Only equipment that is hard surface and can be cleaned will be available for rental. Equipment will be disinfected after each use. Curbside pickup will be arranged for all equipment orders, and contactless payment can be made via credit card by calling 311.

The City has instituted a number of safe work processes and procedures to help ensure the health and safety of our employees and residents at our arenas:

  • Customers are asked to use the self-assessment symptom checklist before entering the arena
  • All individuals entering an arena are required to wear a face mask. A mask is not required while engaged in physical activity
  • Spectator capacity is reduced to help ensure social distancing guidelines are maintained
  • Social distancing is required and individuals must maintain a distance of at least two metres from every other individual while in the arena; however, this does not apply to people who can demonstrate that they are living together in the same household
  • Customers are asked to respect and follow the signage in the facility, including new floor and bench markings
  • To help reduce congregations at the entrance/exit of the arenas and to permit cleaning of the facility, there is at least a 15-minute gap between games/lessons. Where possible, separate entrances and exits will be used
  • Customers are asked not to line up more than five minutes before the start of their ice rental time
  • Access to change rooms and lockers will be limited and spaced out to follow social distancing guidelines; showers will be closed to the public
  • Anyone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms will not be allowed to enter
  • Hand sanitizer is available at our arenas

Organized sports leagues are responsible for ensuring their players follow health and safety guidelines while playing.
