New streamlined parking by-law comes into effect September 1, 2016

Winnipeg, MB - A new streamlined consolidated parking by-law comes into effect on September 1, 2016. The new Winnipeg Parking By-Law creates a point of reference for citizens to find most parking regulations. It also addresses changes that have occurred in the City, its traffic patterns and developments in technology.

Operating hours for City of Winnipeg facilities and services during Labour Day long weekend

Winnipeg, MB - All civic offices are closed on Labour Day, Monday, September 5, 2016.

Recycling/Garbage Collection

Recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected as normally scheduled on the Labour Day holiday for those with Monday as their collection day.

Upcoming temporary closure of Maryland Street between Portage Avenue and Broadway

Winnipeg, MB - Maryland Street from Portage Avenue to Broadway will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic this Sunday, August 28 from 5:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. for asphalt paving of the roadway. Pedestrian access on Maryland Street will be maintained. Motorists should allow for additional travel time, and use alternate routes in this area to reach their destinations.

Arlington Bridge to be completely closed for routine maintenance from August 27 until September 4

Winnipeg, MB - The Arlington Bridge will be completely closed to traffic from Logan Avenue to Dufferin Avenue, starting at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27 and reopening at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 4. The bridge closure is for routine bridge maintenance including expansion joint repairs, inspection and cleaning.

Pedestrian access will be permitted while this work is underway.

Motorists should use alternate routes such as the McPhillips Street Underpass or Slaw Rebchuk Bridge .
