Eastbound and westbound Midwinter Avenue between Talbot Avenue and Brazier Street will be closed to traffic on Sept 27 and 28

Winnipeg, MB – Eastbound and westbound Midwinter Avenue between Talbot Avenue and Brazier Street will be completely closed for guardrail construction starting at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27 until Thursday, September 28. Following this closure westbound Midwinter Avenue will remain closed until Friday, October 13 at which time repairs will be completed.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, and motorists should allow additional travel time to get to their destinations, and use alternate routes.

Winnipeg, MB – Each year in September, approximately 40 countries and 60 non-governmental organizations mark Right to Know Week to raise awareness of an individual’s right to access government information, while promoting freedom of information as an essential element of democracy and good government.

Temporary closure of Panet Road community recycling depot extended to October 2

Winnipeg, MB – The temporary closure of the community recycling depot located on Panet Road at Mission Street is being extended to Monday, October 2, 2017. The closure is needed to accommodate construction of the new Panet 4R Winnipeg Depot which is expected to open in late 2017.

Community recycling depots are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and accept all the same recyclable materials that can be put in the curbside blue cart program.

Bowman Recommends Cooling-Off Period for Departing Members of Council

Winnipeg, MB – Limiting the ability of departing Council members as well as Mayors to lobby City Hall could take a significant step forward if Council supports a motion to be introduced next week by Mayor Brian Bowman and seconded by Councillor Matt Allard, Councillor for St. Boniface and Acting Deputy Mayor.

Ellice Avenue between Erin Street and Wall Street will be closed to traffic Sept 25 - 27

Winnipeg, MB – Ellice Avenue between Erin Street and Wall Street will be closed for railway crossing work from 6 p.m. on Monday, September 25 to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27.
