Winnipeg, MB – On Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2 a.m., the clocks will "fall back" one hour marking the end of daylight-saving time. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) reminds residents to replace their smoke alarm’s batteries and test their smoke alarms when they adjust their clocks this weekend. The old batteries should be recycled at one of the City’s 4R Winnipeg Depots.

When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 6:33 p.m.

There will be no access to McPhillips Street from westbound Leila Avenue during this time.
Westbound traffic on Leila Avenue will also still be able to access retail stores at the Garden City Shopping Center; however, motorists should consider using alternate routes while this closure is in place.

Winnipeg, MB – Curbside yard waste collection for 2020 is coming to an end.
Residents are reminded there will be no collection on Remembrance Day (Wednesday, November 11). If your collection day falls on or after the holiday, your recycling, garbage and yard waste will be collected one day later for that week only.
