Winnipeg, MB – At 5:12 p.m. on October 29, 2020, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half-storey house in the 600 block of Maryland Street.
When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke coming from the house and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control at 6:33 p.m.
All occupants of the house self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. Paramedics on scene assessed two patients but no transport to hospital was required. No other injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services team was deployed to the scene to assist displaced residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available at this time.
