Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to structure fire on Hammersmith Road

Winnipeg, MB – At 1:21 a.m. on June 1, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 0-100 block of Hammersmith Road.

At the scene, crews saw flames and smoke coming from the house. Everyone who was inside the house safely self-evacuated before crews arrived.

Firefighters attacked the fire from outside the house while protecting neighbouring homes from fire. Crews were able to enter the house to attack the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 2:23 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
