Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to structure fire on Pritchard Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey house in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 8:10 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services (ESS) team responded to help five displaced residents find temporary accommodations.

The City of Winnipeg’s Animal Services responded to the scene to assist with a cat and a dog that firefighters located deceased.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
