Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to two structure fires

Winnipeg, MB – On the afternoon of Thursday, May 11, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Point Douglas Avenue

At 1:29 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 0-100 block of Point Douglas Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 1:40 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Dufferin Avenue

At 3:07 p.m., WFPS responded to a structure fire in a vacant house in the 400 block of Dufferin Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked from the outside, declaring the fire under control at 3:35 p.m.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
