Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Rosedale Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 9:47 a.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey, single-family home in the 400 block of Rosedale Avenue.

When crews arrived at the scene they found heavy smoke and visible flames coming from the structure. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring it under control at 10:09 a.m.

There were no human occupants in the house at the time of the fire. WFPS crews located a dog in the house. An attempt to resuscitate the animal was unsuccessful. 

The cause of the fire is considered accidental and related to a small appliance. No damage estimates are available.
