Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Gertie Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:19 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-and-a-half storey house with converted residential suites in the 100 block of Gertie Street.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked from inside the house, declaring the fire under control at 11:32 a.m.

Everyone safely self-evacuated from the building. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
