Winnipeg, MB – At 7:56 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant bungalow in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue. The house had previously been damaged by fire in February 2023.
When crews arrived at the scene tonight, they found smoke coming from the house. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 8:06 p.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
It was determined the structural integrity of the building is compromised due to the fires. As such, WFPS has ordered an emergency demolition. Arrangements for the demolition are underway.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
