Winnipeg, MB – At 3:26 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a bungalow in the 0-100 block of Westdale Place.
At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside using a Flameguard X-Tinguish Fire Suppression Tool (FST), an aerosol device that reduces temperatures and allows for safer access. The FST generates a mist that expands to flood the space, suppressing flames within seconds.
Firefighters declared the fire under control at 4:29 a.m.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimates are available.
