Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Magnus Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 8:16 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey duplex in the 600 block of Magnus Avenue.

When crews arrived on scene, they found smoke in the one of the suites. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 8:31 p.m. Damage was contained to the suite where the fire originated.

All occupants of the building safely self-evacuated. One individual was assessed by on scene paramedics but did not require transport to hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available.
