Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Dufferin Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 700 block of Dufferin Avenue.

Upon arrival on scene, crews found smoke and flames coming from the house. They were able to enter the structure to fight the fire from inside, declaring it under control at 6:14 p.m.

Firefighters located one person inside the house. Once brought outside, the individual was treated by on-scene paramedics and transported to hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
