Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire in a vacant house on Victor Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 5:28 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 400 block of Victor Street.

At the scene, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from outside the house until it was safe to enter the house. The fire was under control at 6:18 a.m.

The WFPS ordered an emergency demolition for this building due to its structural instability and to ensure firefighters can access the remaining small areas of fire within the structure.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The house is a total loss.

WFPS responded to a fire at this location on January 22, 2023.
