Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a structure fire on Main Street

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:04 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey hotel in the 700 block of Main Street.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the building. The fire was under control at 4:27 a.m.

The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services (ESS) team responded to help two occupants find alternate accommodations. Some suites sustained water and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
