Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Arlington Street

Winnipeg, MB At 2:58 a.m. on January 11, 2023, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a detached garage in the 600 block of Arlington Street.

Upon arrival at the scene, crews found the garage engulfed in flames, with the fire extending to the adjacent two-storey house. Crews launched a fire attack and the fire in both structures was declared under control at 4:18 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the structures and no persons were found. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Drivers are reminded that driving over a firehose is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act. Doing so can create unsafe conditions for firefighters and put others in the vicinity at-risk of serious injury or death.
