Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fires on Kildare Avenue and Washington Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Kildare Avenue
At 12:51 p.m. , WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey home in the 1000 block of Kildare Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the home. The fire was under control at 1:49 p.m.

Everyone safely self-evacuated from the home before crews arrived. Firefighters located two pet rabbits and brought them to safety.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Washington Avenue
At 8:05 p.m., WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a home in the 300 block of Washington Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the home. Crews launched an offensive attack and the fire was under control by 9:19 p.m.

Everyone safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
