Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on St. Anne’s Road and Beacon Street

Winnipeg, MB –The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) recently responded to two fires in Winnipeg.

St. Anne’s Road
At 11:52 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey condominium in the 700 block of St. Anne’s Road.

At the scene, crews located a fire in the building’s mechanical room. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

Everyone got out of the building safely. Paramedics treated one person on scene and no transportation to hospital was required.

Preliminary observations suggest the cause of the fire was accidental. No damage estimates are available.

Beacon Street
At 2:32 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2022, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two-storey home in the 200 block of Beacon Street.

At the scene, crews saw smoke coming from the home. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the home. The fire was under control at 2:56 p.m.

Firefighters searched the home to ensure no one was inside. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
