Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Broadway

Released: November 28, 2022 at 4:20 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 11:32 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a three-storey, multi-family residence in the 500 block of Broadway.

When crews arrived at the location, they found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the building, declaring it under control at 12:05 p.m.

Most occupants of the building self-evacuated prior to the arrival of crews. Crews located one individual and brought them to safety. One individual was assessed by Paramedics and transported to hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
