Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Manitoba Avenue

Released: November 21, 2022 at 12:47 p.m.

Winnipeg, MB At 10:57 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant house in the 300 block of Manitoba Avenue.

At the scene, crews saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside because it was unsafe to enter the building. Crews worked to keep neighbouring homes protected from the fire.

The fire is now under control. No injuries have been reported.

The house is expected to be a total loss. The house will be demolished to ensure the fire is fully extinguished and for structural safety. WFPS will be on scene into the afternoon.
