At 9:36 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 100 block of Donan Street.

At the scene, crews saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the house. The fire was under control at 10:21 a.m.

Everyone got out of the home safely before WFPS arrived. No one was injured. Three cats and two dogs were located and returned to their owners. One hamster was found deceased.

Preliminary observations suggest the fire was accidental and related to the use of a small appliance. The home sustained significant smoke and fire damage.
