Released: November 11, 2022 at 7:46 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB – At 4:27 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a seven-storey residential building in the 100 block of Henry Avenue. Due to the life safety considerations associated with a large building, a second alarm was called and more crews responded.

Crews located a fire and heavy smoke inside the building. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside. The fire was under control at 4:52 a.m.

Everyone got out of the building safely and most people returned to their suites once crews ensured the building was safe. Paramedics treated one person and transported them to a hospital in stable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
